Shakespeare house – bed & breakfast : visit our accommodation and experience fiordland national park, a world heritage area on the west coast of the south island of new zealand. the local lake te anau and lake manapouri offer magnificent snow-capped mountains as background scenery. enjoy visiting milford sound and doubtful sound while staying in the comfort of our bed and breakfast. te anau is the departure point for many excellent hiking and walking tracks and has an international reputation of being the “walking capital of the world”. transfers are available to all major tracks, including the great walks, the milford, routeburn and kepler tracks. te anau, manapouri and the road to milford sound all offer short walks from 30 minutes to 3-6 hours. follow the lakeshore boardwalk straight into town and enjoy the gift shops, retail outlets and also our cafes and restaurants serving fresh local produce.other activities include the te anau glow-worm caves where a launch takes you across the lake to explore these spectacular underground caves. or visit the wildlife park to view native and rare birds. play 18 holes at one of new zealand¿s most scenic golf courses or take a scenic helicopter or fixed winged plane flight over the rugged fiordland coast and the southern alps. go jet boating or skydiving or a simple lakeshore walk or picnic will unwind and relax you while in this beautiful part of the world.
